Art classes for adults are offered throughout the year, with literally something for everyone: ceramics, textiles, and 2-D and 3-D classes. Unique workshops taught by guest artists are also offered each session. In addition, the center includes two art galleries, a supply shop, and modern, fully equipped and well-lit classrooms.
Two galleries are housed at Fine Line. The Dempsey Gallery is located inside the barn and features members� artwork. The Kavanagh Gallery in the newer, modern building plays host to a number of exhibits, featuring both local, national and international artists, throughout the year.
Fine Line opened 34 years ago, in September of 1979, as a small gallery on James Street in Geneva. Today, Fine Line is one of only a few regional art centers in the country. Internationally known artists teach a variety of workshops, over 40 instructors teach over 200 classes to as many as 1,300 students each year. This non-profit center, run almost entirely by volunteers, draws members from the Chicago area and surrounding states.
