Greater St. Charles, the perfect getaway located on the Fox River - just one hour west of Chicago.
Our bureau was one of the first 21 CVBs to be certified by the State of Illinois in 1983, to promote our community as a destination for meetings & conventions, motorcoach tours, sporting events and leisure getaways for the purpose of enhancing the economic health of St. Charles via hotel guest room consumption and visitor spending. Our state-designated service area is the City of St. Charles, the Village of Campton Hills, Elburn, St. Charles and Campton Townships.
The Bureau is partially funded by the Illinois Office of Tourism and a portion of the local hotel tax collected by the City of St. Charles. A not-for-profit sales and marketing organization, the Bureau employs a staff of professionals who create and distribute marketing materials targeted to specific market niches in order to identify potential pieces of group overnight stays and to encourage individual travel to support the sales initiatives of St. Charles' 12 lodging and meeting facilities.
